How did you get started in the pork industry?
I grew up in Brazil in a family of hog producers, which started me in the pork industry very early. Being around pigs and producers from a young age made me want to become a swine veterinarian. After earning my veterinary degree in Brazil, I worked in commercial production before moving to the United States in 2018 to pursue a PhD in Veterinary Epidemiology at the University of Minnesota. Today, I work in the US pork industry, focusing on research and data analytics to help improve animal health and productivity.
