The 2026 Voice of Pork Scholarship is offered by the Minnesota Pork Board for students interested in communications, marketing, public relations, education, advocacy, or related fields.

Voice of Pork Application Instructions
Submit all materials as one document (PDF) in the following order:
- Cover Sheet
Include:- First and last name
- Name of scholarship
- College or university you attend
- Current year in school
- Resume
Highlight agricultural experiences, internships, leadership roles, and community involvement. - Personal Statement (500 words or less)
Tell us about your journey in agriculture. What sparked your interest in communications, marketing, public relations, or education, and how do you see yourself contributing to the pork industry in the future? Be sure to include any relevant experiences such as agricultural coursework, clubs, internships, or study abroad opportunities. - Industry Challenge Response: Creative Solutions (300-500 words)
Select one of the following:
A. Social Media Campaign
Create a series of three sample posts (Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, etc.), including captions and visuals. Identify your target audience, what you want them to learn or do, and the reasoning behind your approach.
B. Ad or Retail Display Concept
Develop a mock-up or concept for an ad or retail display that promotes pork or educates consumers. Explain how it captures attention, the message it communicates, and why it would be effective. - Lesson Plan or Community Event
Outline a lesson plan or community event designed to educate the public about the pork industry. Include key learning points, the target audience, and any interactive activities.
- Your Impact on the Pork Industry (300 words or less)
The Minnesota Pork Checkoff works to develop and expand the pork industry by promoting, researching, and educating the public about pork. What role do you hope to play in promoting, researching, or educating the public about pork in the future? - Optional: One letter of recommendation from a teacher, mentor, or industry professional.
