Over one million people visit the Minnesota State Fair each year. As fair-goers try new foods and walk through thousands of booths, you have the opportunity as pig farmers to tell your story as part of the consumer’s state fair experience. The success of Minnesota Pork at the state fair depends on awesome volunteers. Each volunteer will receive admission into the fair and a t-shirt. There are three opportunities to get involved at the Minnesota State Fair:

Oink Booth IMG_0010

The Oink Booth, located in the Swine Barn, is a great place for consumers to learn more about pigs and pig farming. Volunteers will be able to work with the sow and litter, famous pig ears and other aspects of the booth to talk about how pigs are raised.

Promotion Booth IMG_0103

The Promotion Booth is located in the Dairy Building and focuses on pork. At this booth volunteers will be engaged with consumers on recipes, how to cook pork and proper cooking temperatures.

Mobile Marketing Booth

The Mobile Marketing Event is a three-day booth located between the Coliseum and the CHS Miracle of Birth Center. This event features three different sections, social media area, Oink Outing tent, and pork samples. Volunteers will hand out samples, answer questions about pig farming and engage consumers on social media.

Dates: Sep 2-4

Shifts

  1. 9 a.m.- 1 p.m.
  2. 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.
  3. 5 p.m. – 9 p.m.
