Oink Outings are held at farmers markets, zoos and other events around Minnesota. The goal of Oink Outings is to connect pig farmers with consumers so they can answer any questions that they have about pork or pigs. For each question that a consumer asks, one pound of ground pork is donated to Second Harvest Heartland to help feed families in need. Tattoos, sunglasses, recipes and pork information is handed out as well.
Most Common Questions
- How much does a pig weigh when it’s born?
- How long does it take a pig to reach market weight?
- What is the best way to cook pork?
The success of Oink Outings depends on great volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering contact Pam Voelkel at email@example.com
