Centerville Elementary student Tanya Roldan says she learned that farmers give their pigs a lot of care. Roldan, a student in Amy Halbur's fourth grade class, took part in a 60-minute Minnesota Pork Checkoff-funded presentation by Don Nelson of Litchfield. "It's a real hands-on experience for the kids," Halbur said. The presentation integrates well into the fourth grade social study curriculum that focuses on Minnesota history, culture, topography, businesses and agriculture, Halbur said. MORE
